James and Alan Astrop, a father and son duo, love building indoor golf courses. The crazier, the better! After a successful build in Rotorua, James decided Christchurch needed an 18-hole golf course to challenge the masses. So he dragged his wife and son, Laura and Tom, down the country from Auckland. And thus the Oasis at the Palms was born.

As is typical of artists and engineers responsible for a build, the project grew and grew. Upon opening, it included immersive virtual reality games such as the XD Dark Ride, racing simulators and a massive arcade featuring new and retro games. James and his team plan to keep adding new features to create the coolest entertainment complex in New Zealand.
